All we have to do is SHOW UP

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me." - Rev 3:20

God is always seeking us. We see it,  or read it rather, in this Scripture, written so long ago, that still rings true today. I’m so glad that even when I didn’t seek Him, God was always pursuing me. This Scripture also beckons the thought, if God is knocking, shouldn’t we be vigilant in listening for His Voice, be it a knock, a whisper, a God Wink, etc.?

I know, if He’s willing to speak to me, I don’t want to miss Him.

There’s victory in Jesus, every single day, under our feet, where we walk, where we sit,  where we stand, and even if we don’t believe this, the devil does.

The devil believes, even when we doubt.

If you’re anything like me, I don’t want the devil stepping in and believing where I doubt.  If the devil thinks this is so, shouldn’t we?  I know the devil is always trying to step in and trip us up, but what I definitely know is…

God makes us so many promises and wants good for us, and how we get this is so easy, we just show up.

The best there is, is waiting for us, and we basically don’t have to do anything other than stand up and receive it. Yes, I said, the best there is. That’s what God wants for us because that’s what we are to Him is, His best.

I wake and give God my early morning before the day and all it holds gets the best of me.

If God prepares a table for me, I’m showing up to it and bringing Him what I have, little, or big, bruised or broken.

He doesn’t ask that I sit with Him in my best clothes or adorned with beautiful hair and makeup, He just wants me, in whatever shape I am, so that’s what I’ll give Him.  If you’ve ever been lonely, felt unwanted, and without purpose, this should make you feel really good.

I’ve broken bread during some of my lowest points and I’ve eaten from the most fruitful table, and God, You’ve reigned over it all.

If you’re living in a tumultuous time, a time of despair or distraught, you’re not living this season alone, He’s with you. We don’t all walk in our best shoes, wearing our best clothes for most of our lives.  I think that most of us, live lives adorned with times that make us lean in and pause in His presence, and these are the times that seem to last forever.

Don’t push back from the table…lean in, and no matter if you show up broken hearted or with a broken cup, He’s the Mender.

Whether you give Him your day first thing every morning, wait until your day has ended, or you just give Him a few breaths mid-day, in hopes and maybe promises to give Him more later, whatever amount is fine, and it’s a start. God doesn’t ask us to be any different than we are. He doesn’t want us to be like our friends, family or coworkers, He just wants us to be who He made us.

Whatever you’re going through, right now, whatever breaths are hard to breathe, give them all to Him before this day is over. He’s waiting for you right now.

Remember that table, It’s there for you, set with a nameplate custom-made for you, and even if you don’t sit at it today, you can tomorrow, the invitation never ends.

You are special, and you are worthy, and whatever causes your heart to beat faster is already in His Hands.
